On September 28th, Sparkrock brought together over 30 attendees, across 12 Ontario school boards, to discuss issues and trends most prevalent in the province, and listen to the amazing guest speakers that were lined up. The day proved to be an exciting and engaging one as we kicked off the event at the Ontario Science Center with an open discussion highlighting key objectives and challenges faced by the boards in Ontario as well as key initiatives designed to increase the Sparkrock K12 ERP solution’s value and effectiveness.
The day continued with a Sparkrock product roadmap and demonstration highlights presented by our solution experts. Here are a few highlights from our discussion:
- Release of Sparkrock Ontario MOE Reporting Package which includes compliance to key reports.
- Version 2016 and 2017 Updates including new information on Employee Expenses that integrates to the employee record in HR.
- Greater relationship management to key partners like OTIP and OTTP to ensure our integrations continue to work successfully.
We then took these exciting ideas and updates to our lunch tables where the boards in attendance got the chance to have open and engaging discussions with one another. Following lunch, we shared Sparkrock's growth aspirations to become number one partner in Ontario for school boards and outlined how we scale in support, delivery, and solutions.
Last, but certainly not least, Dean Currie, CEO and Principal Consultant of CMAC Group, spoke on the importance of K12 system integration and the critical nature of having a single source of financial and HR data within school boards. Dean is the former Superintendent of Business/Treasurer of Bluewater District School Board and is a CPA and CMA, and was able to share a wealth of knowledge and experience with the group.
Our next K12 Meet Up will take place at Fuel Good on February 7th-9th, 2018, so be sure to register and save a spot so you don't miss out on incredible and thought-provoking discussions, like we had at our K12 meetup!
