Sparkrock Announces Exclusive Partnership to Distribute UK cloudBuy’s Purchasing Portal to Education Organizations in Canada


Today Ontario software company Sparkrock announced a new partnership with UK procurement platform cloudBuy, providing an integrated procurement portal with Sparkrock 365 for Canadian K12 and public sector organizations.

Thanks to the cloudBuy integration, Sparkrock customers can benefit from procurement automation to save time, operate more efficiently, and reduce errors. Instead of manually submitting POs, paying vendors, tracking purchases against budget and more, the procurement portal enables customers to find and order what they need seamlessly, automating each step of the purchasing process.

“The cloudBuy purchasing portal is a streamlined and automated way for any organization to simplify procurement and reduce manual efforts and errors,” says Sparkrock VP of Product and Portfolio Marketing Ryan Tollofson. “When integrated with Sparkrock, it offers our customers an all-in-one solution for end-to-end procurement so they can save time and effort, re-directing resources to more strategic tasks for better student and client outcomes.”

York Region District School Board (YRDSB) has been using cloudBuy in conjunction with Sparkrock 2016 since 2015. The school board has processed more than $5 million and approximately 25,000 invoices using the solution, with more than 99.7% automatically matching and being paid by Scotiabank Visa Payables. The school board went through an RFP process in 2015, simplifying the tender process for other Ontario public sector organizations.

“We needed to find efficiencies in purchasing to address strategic demands and contribute significant value to our board. Under manual systems, users spend a lot of time looking for catalogues, filling out requisition forms, checking on order status and documenting the receipt of goods. These largely manual processes are eliminated with eBuy,” says Bill Vansickle from YRDSB. “Our users can now manage their school purchasing duties as easily as they order an item from any online shopping platform. We can now track and report on our total spend, take advantage of volume discounts and reduce off-contract buying.”

The solution includes a sliding scale rebate that is available to K-12 and public sector customers, which helps pay for the solution. As the volume of annual spend increases, customers will start to see increased rebates and those using cloudBuy in combination with Scotiabank’s Visa Payables Automation in Canada will see larger rebates.
