Colin Dickinson

"Why" I work at Sparkrock:

Colin strongly believes in the infinite worth of every human being. He hopes to help the best people on the planet, do the best work on the planet, in a way that is easier, less-stressful, and more fun.

"What" do I do at Sparkrock:

After graduating from Schulich School of Business with a MBA in Finance, Colin began a 12 year career in investment banking working at some notable financial institutions like Bank of Nova Scotia, BNP Paribas, and Citibank. After realizing that the life of Finance didn’t truly reflect who he was, Colin accepted the offer to join a young and vibrant Sparkrock and in 2008 Colin became our Managing Partner.

Between 2008 and 2012, Colin led Sparkrock to significant growth, more than doubling its size and refining the organizational focus through the further advancements of Sparkrock’s ERP solutions while expanding the focus to include CRM solutions. By 2012, Colin was promoted to President and continues to oversee the largest Microsoft Partner in Canada, focused exclusively on the needs of the Public and Social Benefit sectors.

"How" do I do it:

If you ever meet Colin it won’t be long before you’ll learn a thing or two about this outgoing father of two, cycling fiend and tennis enthusiast.  Colin takes every opportunity with anyone that will listen to share that Sparkrock has the best clients on the planet.

Colin has been involved in the Social Benefit Sector for almost 25 years.  He sat on the Board of his first Not-for-Profit – a Community Economic Development Initiative in Ottawa – at the tender age of 22.  Moving to Toronto to attend Business School in the mid-1990s, he ran a five person NFP, the York Business Mentorship Program, aligning students with willing mentors in the Toronto Business Community.

Colin also co-founded and ran a Not-for-Profit organization, ensuring 100% of its profits, tens of thousands of dollars, were channeled to Trails Youth Initiatives, an Organization that helps foster leadership amongst at-risk Youth, through a four-year Program of Outdoor Education.
